Purple started in Paris, where the magazine is still based, with satellite offices in Tokyo, Mexico, New York, and Los Angeles. Paris, the true center of fashion and arbiter of taste, remains the source of our aesthetic. Purple and its editorial independence would not have been possible in any other city.
The magazine evolved for 30 years under the umbrella of the French concept of the “cultural exception,” which protects the country’s cultural assets beyond their strictly commercial value. This sensibility is instinctively shared by the French luxury fashion brands and designers that support Purple and have empowered its creative freedom since the beginning.
