“Magically Surreal” Leonor Fini exhibition at Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt, Germany
For the first retrospective of Leonor Fini in Germany, the exhibition brings together around 100 works spanning seven decades of her career. A fiercely independent artist who refused to be defined by the Surrealist movement, Fini created a world of powerful women, sphinxes, mythical creatures, and androgynous figures that challenged traditional gender roles. Through paintings, drawings, photographs, masks, and theatrical costumes, the exhibition explores her fascination with identity, sexuality, fantasy, and transformation.
