Drawing on the visual language of cinema, Leonard Baby presents a series of paintings that resemble scenes from films that have never been made. Intimate portraits, solitary figures, and romantic encounters unfold in muted colors, exploring desire, longing, and the moments of uncertainty between people. Referencing cinema and art history, including Jean-Luc Godard’s Bande à part, his paintings capture the tenderness and melancholy of relationships, where emotions often remain unresolved.
