Tependris Rising / Co by Konstantin Kakanias
This animated short was created and illustrated by Greek artist Konstantin Kakanias for LA based fashion brand Co. Written in collaboration with the labels designers Justin Kern and Melissa Stack, the film stars fabulous eccentric named Mrs. Tependris – Kakanias’ beloved alter-ego who he has been illustrating for more than 25 years. We find Mrs. Tependris on one of her famous retreats — cryogenically frozen for chic posterity — when inspiration comes calling: it’s time for a fashion comeback!
Directed by The Pain, the film features hand-painted illustrations by Kakanias (who also voices the title character), along with music by David Bowie and Bryan Ferry.
