Thomas Eggerer’s latest series of paintings on view at Friedrich Petzel offer uncertain narratives encased in beautiful stretches of color. The figurative elements of his work act out seemingly mundane tasks against jarring backgrounds that resist conventional perspectives. Eggerer’s work often revels in creating an ambiguity for his viewer by giving equal value to both content and color. Gesture and Territory is on view through November 9th 2013 at Friedrich Petzel, 456 West 18th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
