I was lucky enough to experience the diversity of Tanzania, from dusty areas around the Tarangire National Park with elephants sunbathing, rolling around in mud, and blowing dry sand through the air to the lush green Ngorongoro Crater. It was here where monkeys were constantly trying to steal my chocolate bars, fierce Maasai women built houses out of clay, Maasai warriors had an average of 10 wives, and lionesses napped on lightning-struck tree trunks. Also present was the coastline of Zanzibar, with it’s soft white beaches and underwater coral gardens in front of Pemba Island in the Indian Ocean.
