Steve McQueen produced his new film, Static, especially for his exhibition at Marian Goodman uptown. The piece runs on a continuous loop and provides a never-ending 360 degree view of the Statue of Liberty. Shot from the air, the only sound is the noise of the helicopter. The camera bumps around and changes position at every moment—keeps the film from feeling too delicate as it captures beautiful angles and perspectives of the famous landmark.
