A surreal fusion of biology and art. Towering at nearly ten feet, the sculpture merges three mushroom species: the hallucinogenic fly agaric, the delicate long net stinkhorn, and the dove-colored tricholoma. As part of Art Basel Paris’s public program, the piece juxtaposes nature with the grandeur of Place Vendôme. Höller, drawing from his scientific background, monumentalizes fungi’s forms while inviting reflection on their spiritual and hallucinogenic significance. This visually striking work encourages viewers to reconsider nature’s place within a historical and cultural context.
