Vessel by Alexandra Velasco
At specific times a vessel is considered a person regarded as a holder or receiver of something, especially something nonmaterial, something abstract and powerful. Humans are conduits, conduits for other spirits, deliverers of messages from other realms, receivers of others emotions and desires. Our bodies are just a vessel, transporting our true selves from one realm to the next.
Vessel is a found footage video piece by Alexandra Velasco springing from two seminal 90s films, Empire Records starring Liv Tyler and Stigmata with Patricia Arquette. Sound combines original score by Alexandra Velasco with sound from the actual films.
