Purple TV presents “Envelopes”, a new short film by photographer Marie K. Stotz and writer Alex Baker
A love letter to analog forms of communication, “Envelopes” follows two unnamed women involved in an enigmatic journey through the serene and storied landscapes of Jamestown and Narragansett, Rhode Island. Are they embroiled in a seaside conspiracy conducted via Airmail, or are they simply longing to connect through handwritten letters and notes in a digital age? Amidst the human drama, the natural world has its own plan in mind.
Inspired by the imaginative conspiracies of Jacques Rivette’s films and the sun-drenched elegies of Eric Rohmer, Stotz and Baker’s debut collaboration is both timeless and contemporary.
