Candy and Daddy (1972)

Candy and Daddy (1972) by Anton Perich

To coincide with our recent interview with filmmaker, photographer and video artist Anton Perich we look back to his 1972 film Candy and Daddy, astarring Taylor Mead and Candy Darling, who is best described as “a riotous satire of Park Avenue life.” Mead plays a pervert and increasingly drunk father of Darling, who, with her boyfriend (Craig Vandenburg), has just thrown a wild party and destroyed their Central Park West apartment that is filled with large Marilyn and flower paintings by Warhol. Within this tranquil domestic setting, Daddy attempts to seduce his daughter and her boyfriend.
