The dynamic work of Matias Cuevas is included in Lehmann Maupin‘s summer group exhibition Friends with Benefits. The artist uses carpet, watercolors and fire to create a macabre sensuality. The detail and texture of these medium format abstractions demands closer inspection and immediately engages the viewer. Other artists in the exhibition include Wilfredo Ortega and David Antonio Cruz.
On view through to August 10th at Lehmann Maupin, 201 Chrystie Street, NY 10002, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
