[April 24 2009]
Last night, at the Jean-Marie Périer show First Person Access: The World of Jean-Marie Perier, 1956-2008 at Fahey Klein Gallery in Los Angeles, not many people besides myself recognized Sylvie Vartan, the legendary ’60s French pop singer. When I asked to take her photo, she obligingly said yes and asked me where she should stand. I asked her to take me to whichever photo was her favorite and she led me to this shot, taken in 1964.
