Hasbeen & Willbees new restaurant by Kai Kuhne and John Mollett in Catskills, NY
“We have been around the world collecting and amassing for the auction house that we are opening in the spring. The shopping has been a blast, but now it is time to sell and develop a track record so that we can get some great consignments as well. We decided to do a little preview maquette of the auction concept up in Andes, NY – Catskills – to get the ball rolling. For the auction we plan to have a few days of preview dinners where guest are surround by the auction items and using the culinary objects on the table while they eat. We will have guest chefs, special performances etc. The auction will be super active and lively – with projection screens, topless game show style girls, auctioner in a tuxedo, performances, early Westwood style fashion show. Etc. It will be a fun Friday night event. Hasbeens in Willbees the name, is about giving some of the old freaks a place to shine and providing a venue of exposure for a younger generation. It also references old furniture and art – and wonderful new products.”
