The founder of the New York City Ballet, the School of American Ballet, and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Anne Bass at the premiere of her film Dancing Without Borders at the SVA theater, New York.
In January 2000 Anne went on a trip to Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia. There she met a 16-year-old dancer named Sar who was in a performance Bass attended at the Preah Khan Temple for the World Monuments Fund. She was greatly moved by Sar and conquently invited him to New York to study at School of American Ballet. A longtime patron of dance and of the arts, Bass has made this film about Sar’s journey.
