Chelsea’s Cheim & Read presents its first solo exhibition with Bay Area artist Barry McGee. Starting with his origins in street art, McGee takes on a broad range of concerns including identity, privacy, and ultimately the discord of contemporary urban life. The artist works with dualing concepts in his materials and installation techiniques to create a vibrant and provocative environment in the gallery space. On view through October 26th 2013 at Cheim & Read, 547 West 25th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
