“I spent countless hours on trains and buses, watching faces, buildings, rice fields, flashy neon signs, and an oddly high number of dogs in sweaters pass by.
Some trips feel like a dream just before you wake up—one where you’ve lived an entire life, learned five languages, adopted a seagull, or brilliantly resisted an interrogation by a spy.
