A visit to the botanical garden Orto Botanico di Brera behind Palazzo Brera, Milan

The Orto Botanico di Brera Botanical Garden was established in 1774 under the direction of Maria Theresa of Austria who transformed an existing Jesuit garden to serve students of medicine and pharmacology. Today the garden is managed by the University of Milan and includes the Pinacoteca, the Astronomical Observatory, the “Braidense” Library and the Academy of Fine Arts
