Signs of the Times: A Portrait of the Nation’s Tastes extract by Martin Par and Nicholas Barker
We look back and the seminal work by Magnum photographer Martin Parr and Nicholas Barker “Sign of the Times: A Portrait of the Nation’s Tastes,” a brilliant documentary series which explored British taste and the domestic landscapes. Parr and Barker will be in conversation at the London College of Communication on May 19th to discuss the confluence between film and photography and their work together in the 1990s.
Their conversation will be preceded by a screening of Parr’s remarkable 1999 film Think of England, which explores “Britishness” with Parr’s customary wit and precision. Reserve your place here.
