Ry Rocklen “Trophy Modern” Portrait by Alexa Karolinski

For this years Miami Art Basel, Absolut presents a collaboration with Los Angeles based artist Ry Rocklen on a large-scale art bar installation on Oceanfront, Miami Beach. The installation entitled Night Court will be in operation from 12 noon until 2am. Night Court is at once a bar, a performance venue, a sports arena and a showroom for Rocklen’s new line of furniture, “Trophy Modern”. Using the principles and aesthetics of “Trophy Modern” at the heart of Night Court’s design, Rocklen examines the culture of competition and success. The installation features “Trophy Modern” furnishings including a bar, bleachers, ping pong and chess tables made from the artist’s signature trophy parts, all set within 1:1 basketball court markings.
