Rosalie (1966)

Rosalie (1966) by Walerian Borowczyk

The minimal short film “Rosalie”, based on a Guy de Maupassant adaptation, consists of a haunting monologue by the young Rosalie, on trial for the murder of her new-born infant. Coinciding with Walerian Borowczyk: The Listening Eye in the Fox Reading Room, the ICA will be dedicating this weekend to the films of the great polish director. Known for his erotic feature films such as Immoral Tales (1974) and The Beast (1975), viewers will have the unique opportunity to see his rarely screened short films including Holy Smoke, a recently discovered ten minute film Borowczyk made in English for Wills Cigars in the 1960s.
