Luc Tuyman’s new painting exhibition at David Zwirner is a subtle exercise in form and psychology. Each painting offers an unknown narrative told through broad brush strokes, odd perspectives and limited color palette. The works in the exhibition function equally well on their own or viewed as a cohesive whole. Tuyman’s allows the simplicity to encourage contemplation and revels in the tension of the seemingly trivial depictions. The Summer is Over is on view through February 9th 2013 at David Zwirner, 519 West 19th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
