A new presentation of Keith Sonnier’s late 1960s sculptures reveals the artist’s ability to blur the boundaries between organic and inorganic forms. At Mary Boone’s Chelsea space, neon and glass works slip easily from the wall to floor space. Sonnier is a pioneer in Postminimalist light installation and uses lowbrow materials and surprising shape configurations to highlight the connection between restraint and psychological impact. On view through February 23rd 2013 at Mary Boone, 541 West 24th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
