Ai Weiwei at Mary Boone, New York
A view of Ai Weiwei’s Forge installation at Mary Boone’s Chelsea location. The mangled steel covering the gallery’s floor is repurposed from collapsed school buildings after China’s 2008 earthquake. A large format photograph on the wall mirrors the traumtic installation and offers an intriguing new way to contemplate the three-dimensional space.
