“An evening with George Gershwin between Broadway & Classical Music,” Serpent à Plume House Concert Series 01, Paris
For its first concert in an upcoming series, the Serpent à Plume invited Italian clarinetist Giordano Carnevale, who played George Gershwin’s masterpieces from “Girl Crazy,” “Strike up the Band” and “Funny Face” — a testament to the history of the American musicals and the tradition of European classical music. As such, the concert served as joyous journey of discovery into jazz and classical music, followed by a cocktail party, all within the comfort of an intimate, house-concert atmosphere.
