In her first solo exhibition Anna-Sophie Berger displays a group of photographs derived from her latest textile works alongside scarves which have been screen-printed with the same images. The pairs contrast pixelated digital information with material. The difference between the two objects lies within their haptic reality, their ideal value in terms of fashion versus art, merchandise verses edition, handscrafted versus manufactured, static versus the mobile possibilities of site – a scarf and an image. The garments which inspired these images were displayed in a performance where Berger directed her models to move around the space using specific gestures. Photo Elise Gallant
