Soft and eerie AI-generated voices serenade the viewer as the modern landscape as it moves from day into night, with the visual image shifting from person to person; from a face, to a sea of silhouettes; from dusk to dawn… Filmed over two and a half years, much of which was improvisational, Aitken captures the juxtaposition between our screen-dominated lives, and the ritualistic and trancelike state in which we find ourselves when capturing the sun – the epitome of the modern age.
On view now until May 27th at 303 Gallery, 555 W 21st St, New York
