Barbara Sánchez-Kane performance “Aguas Frescas” at Performance Space, New York
Inspired by Mexican street culture and the tradition of aguas frescas — fruit drinks commonly sold by street vendors — the performance expands the definition of poetry as a communal, durational and sensorial ritual. Conceived as a “poetry fountain,” across two evenings Sanchez-Kane’s friends & collaborators shared their work through various mediums.
