The video shows footages of the reggae and dub producer Lee “Scratch” Perry in his recording studio “The Black Ark” located in his family home in Kingston Jamaica during the late half of the 70’s. “The Black Ark” witnessed the recordings of the likes of Bob Marley, Junior Murvin and Max Romeo and astounding tales such as Perry.
Lee “Scratch” Perry, a legendary figure of reggae and founder of dub, has been the source of inspiration for many artists, including Xavier Veilhan, who realized a 3D scan of the producer for his show at Galerie Perrotin in 2015 displaying his series Producers which depicted some of the most famous music producers, from Quincy Jones to Pharrell Williams.
