Laurie Simmons & Peter Wheelwright’s “The Kaleidoscope (…Bigger) House” for Art Basel Miami, until March 31st
Redefining the art object as an interactive dreamscape. Originally designed in 2001, this modernist dollhouse—reborn with AI—lets visitors step into its translucent rooms via real-time, personalized portraits. Its luminous panels blur the domestic and the sublime, while miniatures by Cindy Sherman and Barbara Kruger and Karim Rashid’s @karim_rashid_official furnishings turn play into radical design. Simmons reimagines the dollhouse as a nostalgic yet electrifying portal to identity and intimacy.
