The Family By Alexandra Velasco

The Family By Alexandra Velasco by Alexandra Velasco

The Family is a short directed by Alexandra Velasco who describes the concept behind her film inspired by Charles Manson as “In the Sixties, Charles Manson psychologically controlled a group of social outcasts, using LSD and charisma. In time the group went from being guided by love to murder rampage. The called themselves The Family.”

Alexandra Velasco was born in Mexico City, and lives in New York. Her dreamscape videos, performance and art work spring from her constant search of another more fantastical dream/nightmare reality. Focusing on the use of body in art, Alexandra explores the many facets of the female body, combining the physical and the mystical, in order to create beautiful, yet discomforting, images.
