With “Rosebud,” American multimedia artist Alex Israel delves deeper into his exploration of Hollywood. His latest exhibition, the fourth with the gallery is imagined around what is commonly considered as one of the most famous props in the history of cinema from the iconic 1975 film, Rosebud. This object, whose name is spoken in Kane’s last breath in the film’s opening scene, constitutes a mysterious thread that runs throughout the film, an enigma whose significance only becomes clear over time.
