Miroslaw Balka’s powerful new exhibition at Gladstone Gallery provokes contemplation of the past and present. The large scale installation includes Balka’s trademark drama with the tension between gushing black liquid and uncompromising steel. The artist includes a low positioned seating area which places the viewer as a submissive witness to the work’s authority. The Order of Things is on view through March 30th 2013 at Gladstone Gallery, 530 West 21st Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
