Los Angeles-based artist Tidawhitney Lek portrays and explores the family home in “House Hold.” Her work tackles boundaries between the public and private spaces, the generational traditions and traumas that are passed down in a family whose life has been stained by immigration. She paints from family photographs, experience and memory to finally unveil a body of work that weaves together the joys and anxieties of life itself.
