The late Gerald Ferguson’s conceptual work is currently on display at the Lower East Side gallery CANADA in an exhibition organized by Luke Murphy. The show functions as a small survery of Ferguson’s development from grid patterns to disordered repetition. The rough means of production (black enamel rubbed over canvas using ropes and chains) adds depth to the simplicity of the designs. Work is on view through February 12th 2012 at CANADA, 55 Chrystie Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
