Backstage GCDS S/S 2026, MFW

GCDS celebrated its 10 years anniversary. Giuliano showcased a collection, which was sort of a retrospective and a love letter to his brand – the fantasy that he turned into reality.

Since the beginning, Giuliano mixed elements of pop culture, Italian craftmanship, self-irony in a very sensual manner, and total Italian excess – every show always felt more like a spectacle. The SS26 included many of his signature looks from reinforced lingerie, to exaggerated accessories to signature stripper platforms.

What has always set to me GCDS apart from other Italian brands – it’s the people. “Community” maybe the most overused word today, yet for Calza it has never been a marketing strategy — it is embedded in the brand’s DNA.

Amina Muaddi, gliding in embroidered black dress, embodied the hyper-confident femininity — not just a model wearing it on the runway same time, but Amina serving it in real life. Gilda Ambrosio with her endless legs and signature micro-shorts, is an absolute version of contemporary Italian diva to me – sexy, slightly dangerous and totally cinematic. And Mali Goshik closing the show – brought her playful, OnlyFans-era sensuality, it felt so organic, fun and totally GCDS. Even the show voice over was by Dua Lipa, who is a close friend of the designer himself.

Backstage at each show feels more like a family gathering than a press-driven celebrity moment. Moments like these are reminders that fashion must remain personal. In today’s chaotic world, the clarity of a joyful vision is something precious. Bravo, Giuliano. Excited for your next decade!
