The conceptual concrete sculptures of artist Anish Kapoor function as exercises in form and the power of materials. The free-standing works intend to blur the boundaries between contemporary art and relics. They also represent the play between an artist’s intention and the reaction of the materials. Kapoor does not resist the concrete’s drive toward organic forms but rather allows it to function within his creation.
