Alec Soth’s Broken Manual is quietly disturbing with photographs that access the undercurrent of disobedience and distrust in contemporary America. Soth pulls from non-fictional accounts of society’s outsiders and creates his alter ego, Lester B. Morrison, who inhabits a world of escape and remains off the grid. On view through March 11th 2012 at Sean Kelly Gallery, 528 West 29th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
