This project follows a public intervention in which Dahan removed a cobblestone from a New York street and exchanged it with one he extracted in a Parisian street. Each lamp is encased inside a cement cast of the original cobblestone and accompanied with casts from the other city’s cobbles. As a result, the displaced fragments of two real paved roads are given a new purpose as functioning lamps.
On view until October, 10th 2017 at Patrick Parrish Gallery, 50 Lispenard St, 10013 New York.
