Understanding by Martin Creed
Winner of the 2001 Turner Prize, British artist and musician Martin Creed presents his new single “Understanding,” taken from his forthcoming album Thoughts Lined Up . In the music video, Creed appears wearing a different outfit and with a new hairstyle each time. These are then layered on top of each other to create a vibrant and upbeat montage.
Creed will be showing a major show “The Back Door” at the Park Avenue Armory in New York with performances from his band within the exhibition space, accompanied by a talk with the artist. Tickets also allow access to the exhibition on the performance day. Click here to buy tickets.
Understanding is also the title and the message of Creed’s 25-foot-tall rotating neon sculpture, a large Public Art Fund commission, in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
