“The Cocktail Party,” a short film directed by Jessica Sanders starring Charlotte Taschen
A cocktail party turns into an unexpected martial arts action film in this short piece directed by Sundance, Cannes and SXSW-award winning director Jessica Sanders. Starring black-belt taekwondo martial artist Charlotte Taschen, olympic rhythmic gymnast Eugenia Yuan and martial artist Jen Kuo Sung, “The Cocktail Party” uses humor to shed light on the unequal power balances in a work environment. Filled with rumbustious kicks and forceful chops, the film captures what would happen if our animalistic id would act on our daily exasperations – a feeling of empowerment is inevitable.
