Purple is pleased to present “The Caboose,” an exhibition of new paintings by Guy Yanai at Praz-Delavallade, Los Angeles. The name is inspired by a Roland Barthes’ excerpt about the open air caboose that once ran between Bayonne and Biarritz in the summers — a symbol of vanished pleasure. The paintings echo this idea as depictions of simple pleasures we no longer seem to have, like walking by the sea with a lover.
On view now until June 26th at Praz-Delavallade Los Angeles, CA
