Stand still like a hummingbird curated by Bellatrix Hubert uses Henry Miller‘s short stories as the starting point to explore the conflicts of modern life. Works by Tomma Abts, Gordon Matta-Clark, Ed Ruscha and others play with humor, absurdity through both formal and thematic content. Mason Williams large scale graphic silkscreen Greyhound bus works especially well with the abstract works in the show such as Cady Noland‘s metal fence and supports the ongoing dialogue of contradictions.
