For the third playlist for Purple #44, The Analog Issue, Mark Leckey created a playlist that links underground sounds, bizarre discoveries, and pop-culture detritus, revealing the porous boundary between art and music. Mark has been deeply involved in music since his earliest beginnings. His sounds exist at the intersection of memory-scape, subculture, and sonic collage; they evoke a post-digital culture, as if the internet was an entity in itself.
Mark says: “I still want music that is unheard of. I still think there’s a different future to music, something that’s much more fluid and unbounded, something that can be limitless.”
