NATE LOWMAN’S SHOW “A DOG FROM EVERY COUNTY”, new york

Nate Lowman’s show opened at Michele Maccarone’s gallery this Saturday. Nate obliquely describes the show as “portraits and landscapes landscapes and portraits.” This new body of work continues Lowman’s obsessive and humorous take on the overworked symbols of pop-culture, most notably the smiley face. A pizza party followed at the aptly named café/concept store/tattoo parlor, The Smile, on Bond Street (set to open this week).

At Maccarone Gallery
630 Greenwich Street NY, NY 10014 from February 28 to March 28, 2009.
