A resin polar bear sculpture by German artist Martin Honert included in Matthew Marks Gallery’s summer group exhibition. Honert creates truthful sculptures to function as a discussion between the present day and memories of childhood. Honert’s polar bear becomes a singular representation of memory disconnected from nostalgia but part of an ongoing narrative. On view through August 14th 2014 at Matthew Marks, 523 West 24th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
