The American artist Raymond Pettibon presents a new body of works at CFA Berlin. The exhibition reveals the artist’s revived interest in crayon, watercolor and collage elements on paper to enhance his classic themes including baseball players, sex and politics. As with previous works, Pettibon combines his imagery with text passages usually unrelated to the content of the image as a means to confuse and intrigue his viewers. Some of Pettibon’s favored sources include James Joyce, the Bible and the literature of the 1980s.
Looker-Upper by Raymond Pettibon is on view through to June 11 at CFA Berlin, Am Kupfergraben 10, Berlin. Text Juliana Balestin
