Przystanek Woodstock features Kira Bunse‘s series from Summer 2013, when she attended the rock music festival Kostrzyn nad Odrą in Poland. Kira captures the young festival crowd in a carefree environment with analogue black and white photographs of intimate moments. Following the tradition of Diane Arbus and Nan Golding, Kira‘s photographic eye shifts perspective between documentary investigation and and a conscious aestheticization of the festival attendees, in an attempt to portray both the social aspect of the event and it’s liberating beauty.
Przystanek Woodstock is on view until August 28th at ITALIC gallery, Leipziger Str. 61, Berlin.
