Jutta Koether’s new exhibition with Bortolami Gallery fills the floor with rough gravel which functions as the perfect counterpart to her jarring and agressive large format paintings. As with previous works, Koether concerns herself with the use of unconvential materials and a consistent rejection of the expectations of painting.
The Fifth Season is on view through June 16th 2012 at Bortolami Gallery, 520 West 20th Street, New York. Photo and text Juliana Balestin
