Using meticulous oil painting techniques, Kacere achieved photorealistic precision in rendering lingerie fabrics like silk and lace, creating works that blur the lines between realism and abstraction. These enlarged, luminous compositions transform the human body into sensual yet enigmatic landscapes, provoking reflection on themes of objectification, beauty, and the gaze. Devoid of faces or identity markers, Kacere’s works perpetuate the visual consumption of the female body while also interrogating it. Echoing John Berger’s critique of the gaze, they force viewers to consider how women are seen and presented in art.
